Our Share the Harvest Program
Since 2009, we've been partnering with Willing Hands and relying on the generous donations of our customers and the greater community to put farm-fresh eggs into the hands of local hungry neighbors. Thanks to the kindness of those who have donated, we've supplied Willing Hands with tens of thousands of delicious eggs for distribution through their food donation channels.

What is Share the Harvest?
As more families take advantage of the benefits of growing and raising their own food, sometimes the harvest provides more than what is needed. The number of people raising poultry in our area has increased dramatically over the years and Share the Harvest was designed specifically to provide an opportunity for our local poultry-raisers to share their surplus eggs with neighbors in need.

Why Are Eggs Important?
Local food pantries are working hard to help hungry families but it can sometimes be a challenge to provide healthy, protein-rich foods since so many of those items are perishable. Eggs provide a delicious source of nutrition but with less handling risks than some other meat and dairy products. Eggs are also incredibly versatile ingredients for cooking. They really are “incredible”.

How Can You Help?
Our Share the Harvest program is simple. We’ve partnered with our friends at Willing Hands to help get these surplus farm-fresh eggs into the hands of those local families who can use them. The demand for fresh eggs is growing and we could use a lot more eggs to meet the need. So if you or someone you know raises chickens for eggs and has extra to share, they can be dropped off right here at our store. Willing Hands stops in several times a week to pick up the donations and get them out to our local neighbors in need.
